Last week I was invited to deliver a workshop presentation on behalf of UK Sport to the England Hockey coaches at Bath University.
Age grade, club and high performance National coaches attended the presentation, which focussed on my experiences through coach development from Junior through to Academy coaching, Regional professional to National coaching. Developing high performance teams is a tough business that requires the individual to invest in themselves, carry out continual professional development and mentoring. UK Sport mentor Leighton Morgan commented,
“The England Hockey coaches will have gained a lot from Sean’s presentation. The processes and experiences he has been through in his coaching career are parallel to all sports and his ability to share and articulate them with us has be key to the learning and development of our coaches”.
