The Principality Building Society has joined forces with former Ospreys Head Coach Sean Holley and successful education technologist company Aspire2Be in a ground breaking sports broadcast initiative for children in schools.
Holley who broadcasts regularly on the BBC’s Scrum V programme, BT Sport and who also hosts his Sony Academy Award winning Rugby Nation radio show for Nation Radio, in collaboration with a Aspire2Be (A2B) has constructed an exciting series of workshops aimed at Key Skills for primarily, but not exclusively, Key Stage 3 & 4 in Secondary Schools. The project is called iBroadcast and through the learning and use of a number digital applications and experiential practice participants learn how to conduct two way interviews, sports commentary, analysis for sports broadcasting, presenting and much much more. The participants bring together all of their new found skills at the end of the programme to create their very own panel show they can use for their school website or social media pages – all of which is taught within the course.
Holley commented:
“Building confidence and coaching skills has been a huge part of my working life and through the past twenty years or so I have learned a lot about sport, coaching and now broadcasting. I have a big passion for it and when this idea came to me I had no hesitation in approaching Aspire2Be”.
Holley previously wrote the first of its kind ‘Rugby Studies’ course whilst working at Coleg Sir Gar back in 1998. https://www.tes.com/news/tes-archive/tes-publication/pick-ball-and-run

The Principality Building Society has commissioned the first iBroadcast programme to be held from Wednesday 22nd March to Friday 24th March at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. This is an exciting launch of the first of many iBroadcast programmes running across England and Wales.
